I am a Captain with British Airways and my wife is a Partner in a large, multinational law firm practicing Employment Law. We bought a house in the village of Scarcroft in 2013 which needed extensive renovation. After an initial disastrous experience working with another building contractor, Sam Long stepped into the breach to rescue us. He had previously worked for my brother and sister-in-law, so we had seen what an outstanding job he had done for them. He did a similarly impressive job for us. He picked up the pieces left by the previous contractor and enabled us to create a beautiful family home.
We have used him a number of times since and he has always been a pleasure to work with, delivering projects on time and to budget. He is thoroughly professional throughout a project. He brings great ideas and helpful input from the off, his communication skills and attention to detail are outstanding and his commitment to make sure his clients are happy is unparalleled in my experience with the building trade. He is a very skilled craftsman particularly when working with natural materials such as Yorkshire stone. His main fault is probably that he is too conscientious … the time and effort he puts in to make sure a job is done properly must eat into his profit margins!
We are hoping to embark on a new project soon and would not hesitate to work with Sam again, in fact we would be reluctant to use anyone else.
